Viver Brazil
Viver Brazil evolved from my deep love of all things Brazilian and was created so that I could share these experiences with Australia. I lived in Brazil for 2 years in a city named Belo Horizonte (Beautiful Horizon) and was lucky enough to travel extensively around Brazil during this time. I fell in love with this beautiful, crazy country and its colourful people, customs, music and, in particular, its FASHION.
The language of Brazil is Portuguese and “Viver” (pronounced VIV-AIR) is the Portuguese verb “to live”. Viver Brazil is about giving you the opportunity of “living” and “enjoying” Brazil through its fabulous collection.
Viver Brazil has become recognised in the past 2 years for its amazing and diverse collection of Brazilian bikinis. Our objective has been to show Australians that Brazilian bikinis are not just about the “itsy bitsy” – that more importantly it is the unique designs, beautiful fabrics and superior quality of a select few leading labels that have led to Brazil's recognition as the leader of bikini design within the Fashion World.
Viver Brazil currently houses the swimwear labels Agua de Coco and Vitess and recently diversified its collection so as to include two fashion accessory labels Melissa and Ira Salles.
Viver Brazil provides fashion of the highest quality to selected boutiques around Australia. The labels we carry have been hand-picked because of their stunning creations and attention to detail. The Viver Brazil Collection is exceptional and unique – truly a selection of the finest labels from Brazil.
AGUA DE COCO
Awarded the title of “The Best Brazilian Swimwear Collection” at Sao Paulo Fashion Week in 2002, Agua de Coco keeps getting better and better with each subsequent collection surpassing the next. Each year it launches its spring/summer collection on the catwalk at Sao Paulo Fashion Week.
Agua de Coco have seven of their own stores around Brazil , including one on the famous shopping street of “Rua Oscar Freire” in Sao Paulo .
Agua de Coco's collections are always beautifully breathtaking. Their unique and amazing creations are the result of the artistic combination of stunning prints, delicate detailing and extraordinary designs.
IRA SALLES
Irá Salles is a fashion designer from the state of Bahia in the north east of Brazil . Her distinctive handbags and sandals, which reflect the culture and beauty of Brazil , are already sold in the World's largest cities – Sao Paulo , New York and Tokyo .
Irá studied and graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York , one of the most respected schools of design in the World. Whilst in New York , she worked for some of the biggest names in fashion, including Carolina Herrera, where Irá created couture collections for both New York and Hollywood .
On one of her vacations to Salvador , the capital of Bahia , Irá decided to create a purse for herself. The purse was a hit amongst her friends and soon she started to receive orders. Ira returned to New York and created a purse collection. It was a huge success, with her pieces being exhibited in the New York Museum of Contempory Art and drawing customers from the other side of the World – Japan .
In 2000 Irá returned to her home-town of Salvador , to further develop her own label by integrating Bahia 's unique style of art-crafts within her collections. The combination of her expertise and her artistic individuality is what makes her collections truly extraordinary.
Irá's distinctive style and international success have resulted in numerous articles being written about her and for her collections to feature editorially in Brazil , New York and Japan 's finest fashion magazines. Irá has participated in various fashion fairs in New York including New York Spring Summer Fashion Week 2004 and New York Autumn Winter Fashion Week 2004.
